Mini Tummy Tuck Surgery in Los Angeles

What is a Mini Tummy Tuck?
The abdominoplasty or, tummy tuck procedure is a popular treatment that is particularly sought out by individuals after weight loss or pregnancy. However, in some cases patients are unhappy with the fatty tissue and sagging skin that is located primarily below the belly button. Patients such as these can be eligible for the less invasive mini tummy tuck. During the procedure, the navel is left intact and the lower abdominal incision is smaller. If you are unhappy with the sagging skin located under your belly button, then a mini tummy tuck or lower abdominoplasty, may be right for you.

Take the next step and get more information by calling Dr. Stoker’s office at 310-300-1779, or request a consultation online.

What is the Difference Between a Tummy Tuck and a Mini Tummy Tuck?
The basic foundation and goals of a tummy tuck and a mini tummy tuck are essentially the same. In each procedure an incision is made right above the pubic region and excess fat is removed. Then the remaining excess skin is removed as well.  In a mini tummy tuck, the incision is much smaller, less skin needs to be removed and the muscles do not require as much tightening.

Since less skin is removed in a mini tummy tuck, it is not necessary to relocate the naval as is often the case in a traditional tummy tuck. This is why the procedure has been coined as the “scarless tummy tuck”. However, patients should be advised that they will still have a scar, but it is located below the bikini line so it is not see when wearing clothing. The incision is placed low enough that the scar will be located below the pants line and not even visible in a bathing suit.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Mini Tummy Tuck?
If you are someone that only has a slightly protruding abdominal region and a small amount of excess skin, then a mini tummy tuck may be the right procedure for you.  Patients who already have a cesarean section scar are particularly good candidates for a mini tuck.  In many cases, patients seeking a mini tummy tuck are just trying to shape their already slim contours or rid the memories of past weight fluctuations. Good candidates for the mini tummy tuck procedure should also:

  • Be at a stable weight
  • Be in overall good general health
  • Have realistic with their expectations
  • Have good skin elasticity
